Mawe Velma Yabu

Velma joined ECoDAs in 2018 and is a member of the Board of Directors. She has a wealth of experience in gender equality and women empowerment issues. She works with women Aflame international (NGO) in Nigeria which has as its mission to reach and empower families. Velma holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology and majored in population and development from the University of Yaoundé 1. She also holds a diploma in French from Alliance Français de Jos, Nigeria. She is motivated and inspired in carrying out new and challenging tasks as a tool for learning and career development. Maweh Velma provides advisory services on conceptualising ideas on women’s right and empowerment and contributes towards mainstreaming gender in all projects undertaken at EC0DAs
